Dale Lewis British, 1980

데일 루이스는 동시대 도시의 일상적인 장면을 혼란스럽고 기괴한 풍경으로 변주한다. 자신의 경험과 주변에서 목격한 현실을 바탕으로 사회적 리얼리즘과 과장된 알레고리적 이미지를 결합하며, 현대 사회에 내재한 과잉과 모순을 드러낸다. 또한 미술사 속 회화의 구도와 시각적 전통을 차용하고 이를 동시대의 도시 풍경 속에서 재해석하며, 과거의 회화적 언어와 현재의 현실을 연결한다. 에너지 넘치고 서사적인 그의 회화는 유머와 불편함, 사회적 비판이 공존하는 독특한 시각 언어를 통해 일상의 부조리와 어두운 이면을 포착한다.
