Shinoh Nam's work revolves around the fragmentation of architecture and the resulting collapse and ruin. Nam connects the virtual architecture that exists only as ‘Existence’ created by him with symbolic buildings or fragmented structures that already exist in reality. This way of working provides the viewers with a unique perspective on the mechanism of constructing 'Existence' and the relationship between anxiety and desire. The viewers encounter a deformed moment in which a building that is still alive in reality appears as a relic. In addition, viewers facing the work are able to experience building their own unique architecture by choosing, cutting, and combining the elements of the imaginary architecture in their desired way. This evokes the subjectivity of humans living in the structure of modern society, not just the relationship between the two objects as architecture and human beings, but also the relationship between the act of building architecture and human beings.

남신오의 작업은 건축을 파편화하고 그로 인한 붕괴와 폐허를 중심으로 전개된다. 작가는 그가 만든 ‘실존’으로써만 존재하는 가상의 건축물과 현실에 이미 존재하는 상징적인 건축물 또는 파편화된 (잔해) 구조물을 서로 연계시킨다. 이러한 작업 방식은 관람자에게 '존재' 구성의 메커니즘과 불안과 욕망의 관계에 대한 독특한 관점을 제공한다. 그리고 관람자는 현실에서 여전히 건재한 건축물이 유물이 되어 나타나는 기형적인 순간을 접하게 된다. 또한 작품을 마주한 관람자는 작가가 만들어낸 상상 속 건축물의 요소들을 온전히 개인의 의지로 선택하고 자르고 결합하며 그들만의 고유한 건축물을 짓는 경험을 할 수 있다. 이것은 단순히 건축물과 인간이라는 두 대상의 관계뿐만 아닌 건축물을 짓는 행위와 인간의 관계로써 현대 사회의 구조 속에 순응하며 살아가는 인간의 주체성을 환기한다.
