Stella Sujin

Stella Sujin is an artist based between Korea and Paris whose work explores gender, nature, personal narrative, history, and mythology. Drawing from philosophy, literature, biology, folklore, and the occult, the artist weaves together borrowed and invented narratives to construct layered and ambiguous visual worlds. Through distorted symbolism and surreal imagery, Sujin reveals the desires, anxieties, ideologies, and emotional tensions embedded within contemporary society, positioning her practice somewhere between rationality, poetic intuition, and madness. Her work continuously questions inherited social structures — including patriarchal authority and binary systems of thought — while examining forms of femininity and subjectivity shaped through conflict, resistance, and transformation.

스텔라 수진은 한국과 프랑스를 기반으로 활동하며, 젠더와 자연, 개인의 서사, 역사와 신화의 관계를 탐구한다. 철학, 문학, 생물학, 민담, 오컬트 등 다양한 영역에서 차용한 상징과 이야기들은 작가 고유의 서사와 뒤섞이며 모호하고 다층적인 장면을 구축한다. 왜곡된 상징과 초현실적인 이미지 속에서 작가는 동시대의 욕망과 불안, 이데올로기와 감정의 구조를 드러내며, 이성과 시적 직관, 광기 사이를 오가는 감각을 화면 안에 공존시킨다. 그의 작업은 가부장적 질서와 이분법적 사고를 비롯한 인간 사회의 관습적 체계에 질문을 던지며, 억압과 충돌 속에서 형성되는 여성성과 존재의 감각을 서사적으로 풀어낸다.
