Woojung Koh Korean, b. 1984

Woojung Koh explores shifting emotions, relationships, and unstable states of selfhood through the medium of ceramics. Using clay, glaze, and recurring fragments of the body, the artist visualizes lingering sensations and emotional traces that remain after moments of psychological transition and interpersonal change. Processes of breaking, rejoining, layering, and transformation become metaphors for identities continuously reshaped through relationships and lived experience, while hollow bodily forms evoke absence, anxiety, memory, and emotional tension. Rather than presenting fixed or complete figures, Koh’s work creates sculptural spaces where unresolved emotions and fragile human connections continue to resonate.

고우정은 도자를 매개로 변화하는 감정과 관계의 흐름, 그리고 불완전한 자아의 상태를 탐구한다. 작가는 흙과 유약, 반복적으로 등장하는 신체의 단편들을 통해 감정이 지나간 이후 남겨지는 흔적과 감각의 잔여를 시각화한다. 깨지고 이어 붙여지며 변형되는 도자의 과정은 관계 속에서 끊임없이 흔들리고 재구성되는 개인의 상태를 은유하며, 비어 있는 신체의 형상들은 부재와 불안, 기억과 감정의 층위를 드러낸다. 그의 작업은 완결된 형상을 제시하기보다, 설명되지 않는 감정과 관계의 흔들림이 머무는 감각의 장면을 조형적으로 풀어낸다.
