[서울-뉴스핌-조용준 기자] 초이앤초이 갤러리는 4월 22일까지 영국 데일 루이스의 개인전 '스윗 앤 사워'를 선보인다. 이번 전시는 2016년 초이앤초이 갤러리의 서울 개관전으로 열렸던 'Hope Street'에 이은 작가의 두 번째 국내 개인전이다.

We caught up with German artist Armin Boehm in his studio in Berlin and asked a few questions.

(서울=연합뉴스) 김준억 기자 = ▲ 독일 화가 필립 그뢰징어 개인전 = 동독 출신 화가 필립 그뢰징어(50)의 개인전이 서울의 전시장 3곳에서 7일 개막했다. 종로구 삼청동 초이앤초이갤러리에서는 외로움을 주제로 회화와 색채 드로잉 40여 점을 선보이며 강남구 청담동 호리아트스페이스와 아이프라운지에선 호기심을 주제로 40여 점을 전시한다. 작가는 공상과학소설(SF)이나 극지탐험기 등 일상과 거리가 먼 이야기를 주 소재로 삼는다. 순간순간 떠오른 영감과 기억의 조각들을 속도감 있는 붓질로 화면에 배치한다. 하고 싶은 이야기가 넘칠 때면 캔버스 하나에 모두 담기지 못하고 도미노처럼 다음 그림으로 넘어가 대여섯 점의 연작으로 내러티브가 완결된다.

Left alone and unconstrained, the British artist has painted throughout the pandemic. Her paintings garnered little notice for decades but, in the 2000s, exhibitions at London’s Union gallery and Cologne’s Choi & Lager helped create momentum, this month, she opens her first show at David Zwirner gallery in New York. Titled “Which One.”
